WELCOME to Knitting.com!

We’re so happy you found us.

While knitting has been around for a very long time, Knitting.com is a brand new crafty community! Our goal is to give brand new knitters all the encouragement, community, and resources to craft with confidence. If you’ve never touched a pair of knitting needles in your life, you’re in the right place.

Our beginner-friendly library of patterns, tutorials, and how-to’s is growing all the time. From first stitches, dropped stitches (GASP!), and all the great crafty chaos in between we’re working to give you all the tools you need. The best part is that we’re growing our collections at the same time you’re learning. Because we’re new here too you can expect to find exciting new resources every time you check back in.

Not finding what you need? Let us know!

How to cast on knitting

What We Do Better

We’re here for brand new never-held-needles-before knitters!

There are so many fantastic resources for knitters online. It’s never been easier to learn and get inspired! Our goal is to be the best resource for beginner knitters. What are all these abbreviations? Why does blocking matter? Can’t I just skip that step? We’re here to answer all of these questions.

We want to make knitting a joy to learn for everyone. All of our tutorials are available in a range of formats to make learning easier and saving them for later a snap. We’ve added closed captions to our videos, noted when a pattern or series of instructions is written with hand-dominance in mind, and we’ll be rounding out our patterns with a wide range of sizes from the start.

Have a suggestion for us? We’d love to hear it.

Meet the Team

Hannah Maier

I picked up my first knitting needles 20 years ago and I’ve been churning out sweaters, socks, and teeny tiny baby sweaters as fast as my needles can go.

I learned how to cast on and knit from a family friend over a summer visit and then taught myself from a combination of vintage books, knitty.com, and many, many hours of trial and error ever since. I love that there’s always something new to learn!

My favorite projects are knit toys and I’m always on the hunt for cute new patterns to make for the littlest kiddos in my family. Find me on Ravelry!

Kathlyn - knitting.com

Kathlyn Alix

Hi there! My name is Kathlyn, but you guys can call me Kath.

I have been crocheting for almost 15 years now and I specialize in amigurumi! It wasn’t until the year 2019 that I picked up my first pair of knitting needles.

I was helping a friend with their runway collection and I’ve loved knitting since.

Sometimes I combine knitting with crochet to create unique pieces that I can treasure for years to come!

Jodi Tio

Jodi Tio

I’m the resident project manager for Knitting.com! Like many others, I picked up my first pair of knitting needles during the pandemic (I may also have picked up a ukelele, but that’s a story for another time!).

On a sunny island like mine, knitting isn’t actually something that people commonly pick up. So, as a beginner in the craft, I’ve had to rely a lot on video tutorials and online forums. This is why I’m super motivated to build Knitting.com together with my team.

I’d love to one day knit a few cute throw blankets and cushions!

Rose Buenconsejo

Rose Buenconsejo

I’ve been crocheting for decades, but I stumbled across knitting during a trip to Singapore 6 years ago. It was there, in a nondescript craft store while learning from a thickly-accented auntie, where I fell in love with knitting…and maybe Singlish too!

Everything about knitting excites me, from the color and texture of yarn or the feel of new knitting needles. I also admit that I’ve spent many hours pouring over patterns.

My favorite projects to knit are socks! But I also like taking on bigger, more complex projects like blankets or shawls. I like testing my own limits. My favorite place to be is lost in the middle of a knitting challenge — my little solitary paradise.

Meet Kris

Kris del Rosario

I’m the multimedia and video editor for Knitting.com. Getting to work for a crafty brand like this excites me, especially knowing how much creative freedom I’m given.

A little bit about me…I have 10 years of experience in visual storytelling. Just like all crafters and artists, I love that what I create can teach people new things or even evoke strong emotions.
