Row 1

Step 1

Chain in multiples of 3 stitches + 1.

I made 22 stitches: 3 x 7 = 21 + 1 = 22 stitches

Step 2

DC (double crochet) in the 4th chain from the hook, ch 1, dc in the same stitch.

This is your very first “V”.

Step 3

*Skip 2 chains, [dc, ch 1, dc in the same stitch]*, repeat * * until the end of the row. Make 1 dc in the very last stitch.

Reminder:

  • Everything inside the two [ ] should be made inside the same stitch
  • Everything inside the two * * should be repeated until the end of the chain

When you reach the VERY END of the chain, make ONE DC.

Row 2

Step 4

Ch 2, turn your work (this counts as the first dc of the row). This is how you will start every row from now on.

Ch 2, turn your work (this counts as the first dc of the row).

Go straight into the Ch 1 space or the previous row’s “V” stitch, [dc, ch 1, dc] inside the ch sp. *Go right into the next ch sp, [dc, ch 1, dc]*, repeat * * until the end of the row.

Reminder: “Ch sp” means “chain space” in this tutorial.

At the very end of the row, make a DC at the TOP of the previous row’s chain.

Reminder: We started inside the 4th chain from the hook. This means that there is an extra 3 chains at the start. You will make one DC at the top of the last chain.

Row 3

Step 5

You will repeat ROW 3 until your project reaches your desired length!

Ch 2, turn your work (this counts as the first dc of the row). Go straight into the Ch 1 space, [dc, ch 1, dc] inside the ch sp. *Go right into the next ch sp, [dc, ch 1, dc]*, repeat * * until the end of the row.

Make 1 dc in the top of the previous row’s chain 2.
