What You Need for Knitting Machine Patterns

Knitting machine patterns need a few special materials. Some of which you might not have on-hand. So let’s talk about them!

  • Knitting Machines – To create these knitting machine patterns, you will need a certain tool called a knitting machine! This is where you will cast on and knit your projects in. Sentro and Addi Knitting Machines are the most common brand of knitting machine here in the US so we’ll be focusing on this style of knitting machine. Don’t have an Addi or Sentro Knitting Machine? Don’t worry! Most of these patterns can be made on other brands’ machines too!
  • Yarn – Make sure to check the pattern to see what yarn weight to use. Each pattern should list a recommended brand or weight in the “suggested yarn” section of the free knitting machine pattern you’re following! You can make sure you have the right weight by checking the yarn band.
  • Scissors – A pair of scissors is another important tool that you will use for all of your knitting projects. You’ll need them to cut the yarn and trim any leftover yarn tails when you’re done!
  • Stitch markers – You might need stitch markers to keep track of where you are. If you don’t have stitch markers, you can use a strand of scrap yarn—preferably in a different color so it’s easy to see.
  • Yarn/darning needle – You will need a yarn needle or darning needle to sew in the loose ends.
  • Circular knitting machine patterns – Since we’re focusing on Sentro knitting machine patterns, this round up is filled with amazing FREE circular machine knitting patterns for all skill levels!
